KHOA VU
@archdekk
Khoa Vu is the founder of Studio KHOA VU, an independent architecture practice based in New York City, and a Design Critic of Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD).
His works sit at the intersection of rational form and embodied spatial experience, exploring spatial typology, tectonic provocation, and the cultural dimensions of sustainability. Guided by an ongoing investigation of grayscale, his design approach engages the thresholds between object and building, structure and atmosphere, opacity and light.
Khoa holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from Harvard GSD, where he received the Araldo Cossutta Prize for Design Excellence and the Faculty Design Award. He earned a B.A. in Architecture with High Honors from UC Berkeley, where he was awarded the Eisner Prize, the university’s highest recognition for creative achievement in the arts.
His experience spans a wide range of projects, from socially driven urban housing and cultural landmarks at Michael Maltzan Architecture to long-term, research-based innovation at OXMAN. Khoa's work has been recognized by prestigious platforms including the Lexus Design Award, the Venice Biennale, and the Architecture MasterPrize, and he has been a featured speaker at AIA International.
